What is PERS or medical alert system? A medical alert system is a device with a help button that the elderly can press to immediately call a live agent. Instead of dialing an emergency phone number, a single press of a button connects the elderly to an emergency response center where trained agents will be able to help them.

Immediately receiving medical assistance may be the difference between life and death. This is of particular importance in the US, where 26% of adults ages 60 and older live along.
